Laura Civitello
Laura Civitello is a longtime Maui resident who has been running non-commercial radiOpio KOPO-LP 88.9FM as an educational/recreational program for Maui youth ages 9 and up since 2006 at Pa`ia Youth & Cultural Center. She has nurtured the communication skills of thousands of youth at every level of literacy. With the program's unique place outside of a school setting and its focus on local environmental and cultural issues, youth, provided with the history and context, can understand and more fully participate in their island home.
Isa Roske
Isa Roske was a first and second generation Earth guardian and led the movement that's now in 70 countries across the world. She followed her passion for writing attending the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder CO. The writing program was founded in 1974 by Anne Waldman and Allen Ginsberg, which focuses on experimental and open-genre writing, both critical and creative writing styles. Isa’s preferred writing form is poetry and short stories. Beyond her own work, she also edits and advises on projects for other writers and authors.
Rosemary Sword
Rosemary Sword co-developed Time Perspective Therapy (TPT) with her husband Richard Sword, PhD. TPT was initially created to assist military veterans from World War II to Afghanistan and first responders to overcome post traumatic stress. TPT switches the focus from past to present, from negative to positive, clearing the pathway for the best yet to come: the future. TPT can also help those with depression, anxiety, and stress learn to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. Along with her colleague, world renowned psychologist Philip Zimbardo, Rose co-authored The Time Cure, The Time Cure Therapist Guidebook, Living & Loving Better, and has contributed to several other books on mental health. Rose and Philip Zambardo write a popular blog column for PsychologyToday.com and the European Union online journal AppealPower.com.. She has also worked with the Poland-based company Forum Media Polska (FMP) to train mental health professionals in TPT. Most recently through FMP, her TPT courses have been used by Polish professionals to help displaced Ukrainian people overcome posttraumatic stress and grief caused by the war in their country. Rose also writes for the Polish psychological journal Psychology in Practice. She has partnered with Happify.com to create 4-week on-line programs to assist people with post trauma and grief.
Xiuhtezcatl Martinez
Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is an advocate, leader, activist and hip hop artist. He has been on the frontlines of the climate and environmental movement since the young age of 6. Recently named TIMES Next 100, Xiuhtezcatl has felt called to change the narrative on what it means to be an activist from an early age. Still a youth, X has spoken multiple times at the UN, addressing the General Assembly and spoken on panels with the likes of BernieSanders, Van Jones, Shailene Woodley, Bill Mckibbens and Pharrell Williams.
Xiuhtezcatl has been a guest on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah & Real Time with Bill Maher. He has also been featured multiple times on PBS, Showtime, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Upworthy, The Guardian, Vogue, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, CNN, MSNBC, HBO, Netflix, VICE, as well as photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
