Tamara Roske
Tamara Roske, a visionary leader with over three decades of experience, now brings her wealth of knowledge to RFUTURE as the Acting Executive Director. Her expertise spans through various areas including environmental education, activism, the performing arts and youth empowerment. In 1992, she laid the foundation for change by establishing the Earth Guardian Community Resource Center, an accredited experiential learning high school in Maui. Recognizing the importance of global collaboration to protect the Earth and our life giving systems, Tamara also founded Earth Guardians, a cross-cultural youth-led environmental organization.
Due to public recognition through her expansive work, Earth Guardians received the Children’s Torch of Hope through Global Family from the Dalai Lama in 1995. Tamara and her family, with 25 high school students from the Earth Guardian Community Resource Center School, took the Torch on its historic journey to high profile events in 29 states across the US, traveling 6 months. They gathered documents from youth leaders working towards creating a regenerative future. The journey culminated in delivering those documents to the General Assembly with the Children’s Torch of Hope in honor of the 50th anniversary of the United Nations.
At the heart of Tamara's journey lies a deep love for the Earth and a profound concern for the well-being of future generations. For an impressive 29 years, she wholeheartedly led Earth Guardians, providing unwavering support to tens of thousands of young individuals dedicated to protecting their communities against environmental and climate challenges in over 70 countries. Tamara's impact reverberates through her six children, each actively engaged in and inspired by the different generations of Earth Guardians.

My Beautiful Children the lights of my life~
DEDICATED TO MY PAPA MAKASHA AND HIS AWAKENING
My father’s journey was one of awakening, a profound process of self-discovery that transformed his life and, ultimately, our broken family.
Growing up in Montana, a place where beliefs were limited and prejudice ran deep, he broke free from those confines to find his own truth.
His awakening was a powerful force, but it came at a cost. The three of us, the eldest of his 10 children became the casualties of his profound transformation.
During those formative years, our childhood was marked by separation, often cared for by relatives who loved us but also hurt us. Yet, through the darkness and the pain, we endured. We held onto hope, and our paths crossed with his many times throughout those challenging years, each reunion a testament to our bond and his unwavering desire to reunite his family.
The final reunion took place on the island of Molokai in Hawaii when I was 19, a moment of healing and forgiveness that has lasted a lifetime.
By then, I had been living mostly independently since I was 13, with two children of my own. That encounter, rooted in forgiveness and understanding, drew us closer than ever before, forging a bond that has been unbreakable.
As I grew into adulthood, our relationship deepened and we worked together side by side to empower hundreds of thousands of young people through our organization Earth Guardians.
His unconditional love has been a guiding light for all of us. Despite the hardships, I am grateful for his awakening—because from it, we learned invaluable lessons that shaped who I am today. His insights and values have become guiding stars as I raised my own children, passing on the wisdom he shared with me.
He touched not only our family but the world at large, becoming a beacon of love, compassion, and purpose. He taught us that to live is to give, to share is to care, and that love is the deity of all life and that there are no beginnings and no endings, there is only NOW forever and ever. His light shone brightly, illuminating the path home for so many who sought solace and truth.
My father was a remarkable man, a true embodiment of unconditional love and awakening, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide all of us for generations to come.
